hotaru is a gentle, quiet, caring girl... who only wants a friend. she is a very lonely girl. at school, people are afraid of her, because of her mysterious healing powers. then she meets chibiusa! chibiusa had fallen down and hurt her knee, and hotaru healed it. right then, chibiusa befriended hotaru, making hotaru a very happy girl. hotaru attends school at mugen gakuen high, and lives with her father, professor tomoe, and the so-called housekeeper, kaori (who is, in reality, the evil kaolinite) in a huge mansion.

professor tomoe loves his daughter very much. so much, in fact, when his mansion burned down and killed his wife and hotaru, he made a deal with the evil pharoah to keep hotaru alive. but the deal had a catch... professor tomoe became evil, and evil powers were awakened within hotaru....

although hotaru's evil powers do not really show through at first, they do, eventually, take over her frail body.. turning her into the evil mistress 9, who's only desire is to obey pharoah 90, and bring on the "silence" (the end of the world). soon enough, though, sailormoon defeats mistress 9, and hotaru is reborn as a child, who grows up frighteningly quickly to her previous age of about 13.

transformed, sailorsaturn can only be described in one word: powerful. she has the powers to destroy the world, but she doesn't. she rarely appears, though, when she does (just like pluto), something big must be going down.

sailorsaturn's attacks and transformations

*saturn crystal power, make-up!*-- although never shown in the anime, sailorsaturn has to have transformed! i'm using her manga transformation phrase.
*death reborn revolution!*-- even though this is a manga (and video game) attack, i thought i better show it, since it's saturn's most powerful attack. she holds out the silence glaive (her talisman) and it releases purple ribbons that lash at her enemy.
*silence glaive, surprise!*-- saturn raises the silence glaive in the air, it glows with a purple light, and she strikes the ground. a huge explosion follows, one that you see is never fully completed. if saturn had completed the attack, what would have happened?
*silence wall!*-- saturn raises her glaive above her head while saying this, and it protects her and her allies from enemies.
*hotaru's untransformed powers*-- hotaru uses these while untransformed. these powers heal whomever she uses them on... poor hotaru, the kids in her school think it's "gross." she seems to control this power fairly well, though it is weakening to her.
